We have not yet stepped outta all things Amazon,
Purchasing those items that are difficult to locate here in Panamá
From the reliable gargantuan.
I would like to say that we have moved out of consumerism,
But alas, we continue to place intermittent orders
Now that we know that many (not all)
Items can be shipped to our Panamá address.
One of the repercussions
Of our three flights from Maui to Panamá
Was the loss of Andrew’s favorite leather hat👨🎨
We look and look and look for an identical replacement,
To no avail.
We locate what seems to be a suitable substitute
And place the order via Amazon from China.
Five weeks later, we learn that it has cleared customs.
But, it is not delivered in the typical Amazon fashion
To our home by a private carrier.
Below is an excerpt from our WhatsApp thread with our realtor:
The following day,
We locate the cute li’l corner shoppe, Boquete PO,
And lo and behold,
The package contains Andrew’s new sombrero!
The moral?
It’s a small town –
Kinda like it was, a small island (Maui).
It’s a close-knit Community –
Kinda like it was upon Maui.
We look out for each other
Recognizing our connectedness in
Our One⊚ness.
