Community Living Amidst a Working Café Finca
The One⊚ness Community stewards a beautiful rolling-hilled 20-hectare (50-acre) coffee finca (farm) located at 4600 foot elevation in Palmira Arriba, a suburb of Boquete, Panamá. The concept consists of up to 20 creatively designed homes nestled in Nature’s privacy and set amidst a working coffee farm. The homes are fashioned by Andrew Zehr, an architectural designer who, having honed his skills in both Arizona and Maui, Hawai’i, has now branched out to Panamá🇵🇦.
Andrew’s architectural designs are innovative, inspiring, Earth-centric, while bringing the outdoors in, having open-design interior spaces overlooking vast vistas, simultaneously keeping foremost the dwelling’s orientation so as to accommodate prevailing weather conditions. Customary materials utilized are concrete, steel and wood, with interiors having high volume ceilings encased in wood, large picture windows, softening contemporary styling with interior and exterior curves.
The Community concept is based upon alignment of those who are open-hearted and open-minded with the desire to collaborate harmoniously with each other AND the tierra (land). Freedom and “do no harm” are the qualities that form the foundation of the community construct.
An inspiring community gathering center will be designed for accommodating events with the facility including full kitchen, located in a peaceful setting overlooking the land’s year-round running stream.
The Oneness Community has an agreement with La Finca de Café La Gracia, having been given the rights to all fruit harvesting upon the 20-hectare farm, as the farm migrates from biological tending to organic.
The intention for growing community is to offer (both for sale and rental) inspiring homes upon ¼ to ½ acre parcels, each surrounded by a sufficient “privacy” buffer of green land growing natural flora including coffee tree production maintained by La Gracia.
The possibilities are endless for community collaboration toward a common goal. As examples, a community vegetable garden and greenhouse were constructed in Summer 2026 and in the near future, a coop for hens as they share their golden gifts.
