I didn’t say g’bye to my girls,
Not to my two kitties,
Not to my golden-gift layers.
Did I say so long to the exquisite sunflowers in full blossom
At the time of our departing?
Did I give a hug to Li’l Car?
Did I gaze out at our bi-coastal view one final time?
Did I thank the Yumm Room for the massive
Amount of organic, deLicious foodstuffs that poured outta there?
Did I reconnect one final time with The Cocina
Offering my great Gratitude for
Drawing like-hearts together ‘round the fire circle
As she did so magnificently?
Did I walk the land,
Every inch of her,
Filling her with my Gratitude?
Did I walk into each Andrew-designed and built hale,
Imparting thanks for the beauty within each space,
Remembering the many deLightful beings
Who resided within and shared in Community?
Makana ‘Āina,
“Gift of the Land”,
Was her name, and aptly so,
For she gave and gave and gave,
Be it the abundance that grew within her soils,
The Beauty she offered with each and every step,
The bounty of value-added foodstuffs
Prepared with her home-grown Goodness,
Olives gone wild,
Golden gifts from our adored hens,
The harvest of stunningly BEaUtiful aromatic roses
Scented in deLicious glory,
The support she lended in touching and impacting
Those who walked upon her.
We declared her to be “4th Density”,
A hangout for those willing to be the change
They wished to see in the world,
A place to do the work of healing,
Of Awakening.
Exactly this, seen and felt within each Circle
That was held upon her soils and
Within The Creator’s artistic eclectic hale (home).
There were so many to-do’s
On the week of our departure
From morning to nightfall.
And then there was my “mood”
As I struggled with resentment from all the do-ing,
Albeit knowing it was for a reason we had chosen:
– Freedom –
The Freedom to Create unencumbered.
Maui, therefore, was out of the question
Given the County’s seemingly ever increasing control.
Checking in with myself:
Do I feel regrets?
No.
Rather, I recognize and feel the Guidance of The Universe
In making the course change⛵️
We chose to undertake.
Feeling this Guidance
Made the departure from
Our stunning Maui abode possible.
What do I miss most?
Living in an Andrew designed home,
Having Nature’s Beauty magnified within,
That place where artistry abounds
Amidst picturesque window scenes and skylights
Overlooking vast views,
Tall ceilings enclosing natural surfaces,
Shaped in gentle curves enfolded within spaciousness.
I miss putzing around with tending orchids
And all the minute details that a home calls forth
To this Virgo sun-signed one.
I miss routine.
EVERYTHING is new and oh, so different.
What is being asked of me?
Relax into the unknown.
Be with the discomfort of not knowing what to do next.
Be still
And listen to the still small voice within.
And with this all being said (written),
Andrew & I did take the opportunity
To write to the ‘āina and our hale,
The day before our departure,
Leaving the following note in a li’l hideaway within her domain:
The time is ripe
For our new beginning
As you bid us adieu.
You,
The ‘āina who has supported us wholly,
In all ways.
During our residency here,
We have traveled away to far off lands.
You have called us back
Holding us ever more fully.
You,
The ‘āina upon which we have learned steadfastly,
As we welcome the ever changing, ever evolving, Ones We Are.
With the many ‘āina Community co-creators,
You have taught us to be discerning,
To Trust our inner knowing,
To speak honestly and openly,
With ever aligning integrity.
The blessons at times have been challenging,
Perpetually growth-filled.
You have taught me to speak my Truth,
Regardless the ramifications.
You have welcomed the Brilliant Architect
Fully supporting his Aquarian Nature.
We recognize your growing aliveness,
As you house the BEaUtiful Community who you have chosen
To live upon your soils,
Complementing the abundant gardens and edible landscape.
You have been enlivened with hundreds of trees,
Multitudes of growing edibles.
We feel your support as we depart this ‘āina on
Summer Solstice 2025.
We embody the blessons and create anew
Not repeating past choices,
Having learned discernment.
We give the greatest of Gratitude
For your support in our growth
For we recognize that we have evolved
Immensely since our full-time arrival here in 2008.
May this transition to your new stewardship
Be bountiful for you.
May the aliveness and beautification continue magnificently.
With Love in our Hearts and God as our Guide,
We leave our heart-aligned Maui ‘āina for a new country,
A new episode.
We shall perpetually hold you close in our heart
