Volcancito Road
Takes us to our home
AND
At the foot of the road,
A fruiteria (fruit and more stand)
Graces us with their presence most days 9am – 2pm.
From this li’l stand,
We get humungous cocos for $1.25
Pouring over 1 quart of the SWEETest water!
Extra large, yet tart, lilikoi,
deLicious Pumpkin and more.
The farmers are there rain or shine,
Always helpful and kind.
Such convenience just a mile and a half from home!
With the now omnipresence of cocos🥥
In our refrigerator,
We stay increasingly hydrated
Despite the cups of café
We seem to enJoy multiple times daily☕️
What’s going to happen to that café intake
When we live on the café finca⁉️

amazing fruit year around…a bit like Maui, but prob much less expensive no?
BTW: are you able to find lilikoi? In spanish is “Maracuyá” (the accent on the last ‘a’).
One variety I’m busily looking for is “banana poke” (hawaiian name) or “Curuba” in Colombian Spanish. I’d loove to get some seeds of the Curuba
in fiji we had coconuts galore….after a few months found them to be too high in sugar for my body so we started making coco kefir which shifts the sugar to protein and that worked well for us! it spoiled us because coming back to maui i cannot pay 5.00 for a coconut when we had them all around us in fiji. then you have to start making the milk which if you can someone to do it for you, you can add lemon and salt to the fresh cream and its the perfect sauce for any vegies or whatever! turns the simplest dish into food fit for the Gods! xoxo
